"Abstract Bronze Head on a marble base after Henry Moore"
The „Abstract Bronze Head“ is modelled in a shape of the abstract sculptures of Henry Moore. The abstract and asymmetrical shape of the face and the compact rear partextracts itself from a short and fast interpretation. The everted mouth, the crooked nose and the eyes, which are only hinted at here, have a human character and vitality – although in a strange way. The narrow neck threatens to collapse under the burden of its massive and over-proportionated head. The reduction to the essentials is an established procedure in the visual arts, which prompts the most diverse interpretations. The essential is in the eye of the beholder. In contrast with painting, the abstract style in the sculptural and plastic arts became familiar in later years. The sculpture is signed and positioned on a black marble cube.
The “Abstract Bronze Head” was cast in bronze using the lost wax method. All of our sculptures are created under strict quality guidelines. Based on our quality control system we only create high value products, which stand out for their precision.
Henry Moore (1898-1986) was a renowned sculptor and illustrator from the UK. He gained fame with his large, abstract sculptures, which were presented at international exhibitions. His work primarily refers to abstractions of the human, usually female body. In the late fifties, he was honored by the New York Museum of Modern Art with an exhibition. Moore participated in the documenta (1955), documenta II (1959), the documenta III (1964) and Documenta 6 (1977).
