"Fragment of a Mask - Red Fiberglass - Martin Klein"
The "Fragment of a Mask" was made of red fiberglass. It was designed by the Saxon artist Martin Klein. The mask-like fiberglass sculpture depicts a fragment of a human face - a refined home accessory that creates contemplative calm. It is suitable for the design of your own home as well as for business premises such as doctor's offices or law firms. All of our sculptures were produced in a strictly limited edition.
Our modern fiberglass sculptures were produces in a complex manufacturing process. Fiberglass (or fibreglass) is a fiber reinforced polymer made of a plastic matrix reinforced by fine fibers of glass. Fiberglass is a lightweight, extremely strong and robust material, and is used for many products. Although its strength properties are somewhat lower than carbon fiber and it is less stiff, fiberglass is typically far less brittle, and its raw materials much less expensive. Its bulk strength and weight properties are also very favorable when compared to metals, and it can be easily formed using molding processes.
