This spectacular Art Deco bronze dancer sculpture carries the name "Starfish" and was created by Demetre Haralamb Chiparus. Wrapped into a wonderful costume, standing upright on her toes, the dancer "Starfish" is mounted to a spectacular multilayer marble-base. The sculpture is made of finest bronze material and casted in our foundry in an amazing agreement to the original, including the signature of the famous artist Demetre H. Chiparus on the upper side of the bronze socket. It is a truly detailed museum bronze cast and seen as a focal point in every exhibition. The sculpture is an absolute eye-catcher for lovers of bronze sculptures, Art Deco collectors of admirers of the art made by D.H. Chiparus.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

The artist Demetre Haralamb Chiparus who was born on September 16, 1886 in Dorohoi, Romania is well known for his beautiful Art Deco sculptures. Demetre H. Chiparus was always inspired by the French theatre, fashion, Russian dancers and the Russian ballet as well as by the Egyptian culture. Almost all of his sculptures, except those which portrayed young children, were influenced by one of the named sources of inspiration. Chiparus studied in Florence and in Paris and exhibited his art at the Salon in Paris since 1914. The life of the great sculptor ended after he suffered a stroke returning from the zoo in Vincennes, where he studied animals on January 22, 1947.
