The sculpture is the successful work of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero. It is made of 100% bronze and attached to a marble base. As a matter of course, this figurine is signed by Botero.

The Colombian artist Fernando Botero was born on April 19, 1932 in Medellín. Already at a very young age did the artist discover his interest in fine arts. By now, Fernando Botero has become the best known South American painter and sculptor world wide. In his works, he predominantly addresses humans in all kinds of postures- and he does so with his own kind of aesthetics, since to Fernando Botero big is beautiful. These seemingly exaggerated proportions, as we find them in the sculpture introduced here, reflect Fernando Botero's love for the masters of Fine Arts such as Rubens. The great artist Botero married three times. His actual wife is the Greek artist Sophia Vari. They are living in Paris but they also owned a house in Italy.
