Bronze sculpture Little Dancer of Fourteen Years - sign. Edgar Degas

This is a wonderful Modern Art bronze sculpture by Edgar Degas. The name of this figure is "Little dancer of Fourteen Years" and it is world-famous. It reflects a young female ballet dancer, who stands in an upright position, while she gives an impression of youth and gracefulness. Especially the folds on her skirt and the satisfied expression of her face are worked into great detail. The beautiful bronze is set on a dark marble base, which is rectangular shaped and to add perfection to the sculpture itself, the lovely Modern Art sculpture consists of 100% finest bronze. The marble is polished and bears the signature of its creator, Degas, at the bottom of the bronze base.

Edgar Degas created this stunning Modern Art bronze of a young female ballet dancer. He was born in 1834 and started to study law, but he never finished this subject, as he wanted to be an artist. In 1855 he attended, for only a few months, the famous French art academy École de Beaux Arts in Paris, but quickly set out to develop himself into a great artist by himself and therefore withdrew from university. He lived in Paris and Italy and dedicated his life to the arts, nowadays he is especially known for his ballet dancer paintings and sculptures. He died in Paris in 1917 and is buried at the famous Cimetière de Montmartre.
