"Modern Animal Figure - Head of a Horse - signed A. Stevens"
This modern animal figure, titled “Head of a Horse”, is a sculpture originally made by English 19th century sculptor Alfred Stevens. The exhibit shown here is a very detailed and intricate re-cast made of 100% finest bronze. Following a very naturalistic design, this animal sculpture is the life-like portrait of a grown-up horse's head. Small details – like the elaborate designed harness – complete this exquisite composition. For the perfect finish it is mounted on a solid marble base and includes the signature of A. Stevens.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively manufactured with the help of lost-wax casting.

Alfred Stevens was a British sculptor, whose original works can be visited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in central London. Stevens was born on January 28, 1818 in Dorset and is mostly known as the creator of the Wellington Monument at St. Paul’s Cathedral. This masterpiece is known as one of his most famous sculptures because it took him almost his whole life to complete it. Stevens was also working at the “School of Design” and, for one year, for the sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. After he came back to England he was a leading employee of a bronze factory in Sheffield. The life of the great English sculptor Alfred Stevens ended 1875 at the age of 57 in his Londin studio for reasons still unknown.
