Bronze Animal Sculptures for Sale
The French sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye created this extraordinary sculpture. He was born on September 24, 1795 in Paris, where he died on June 27, 1875. Antoine-Louis Barye showed a deep interest in art ever since he was young: at the age of 14 he began an apprenticeship as an engraver for metal, which he could not finish due to war. He nevertheless was able to continue practice as he was responsible for drawing plans and sculpting models for the command centre after the war he became a chaser and learned under Francois Joseph Bosio. Antoine-Louis Barye then started his studies of nature and created many realistic animal sculptures which eventually established his reputation as one of the best animal sculptors. Along with that, Antoine-Louis Barye applied himself to watercolour painting, etching, and lithography. The shown image of the lion fighting against the snake is a very emblematic picture; it is often mentioned as the fight of the good against the evil, while the lion is mentioned as the good one and the snake as the bad counterpart. The lion is also known as the king of the animals living without any natural predators. But the lion is one of the natural enemies of the snake.
