"Vienna Bronze Arab Figurine - Arabian Warrior on Carpet - Bergmann"
This typical motif of the Vienna Bronze period is also known as a so-called carpet bronze. At the beginning of the 20th century, Viennese bronze manufactories produced numerous bronze miniatures that were supposed to take the observer on a journey to the Orient. In doing so, a bronze carpet was often used as a basis for this particular motif. In this case, the bronze depicts an Arabian warrior with a rifle who sits on a carpet. This particularly detailed Vienna Bronze figurine was painted by hand and is equipped with the Bergmann stamp. Elaborate engravings, which are most prominent in the area of the Oriental rug, complement the overall impression of this Viennese carpet bronze.
The production of our bronze figurines is subject to strict quality guidelines. All of the bronze figurines in our assortment are created via the lost wax technique and are cast and refined by hand.
Viennese bronze artworks are often hand-painted small figurines that were especially popular during the beginning of the 20th century. Included in the range of Viennese bronze sculptures are erotic nudes and bronze groups, Arabian carpet bronzes and small animal figurines. One of the most famous representatives of the Vienna Bronze period ist Franz Xaver Bergmann. All of the motifs from his workshop bear the so-called Bergmann stamp.
