"Bronze Sculpture - Heracles the Archer (Bourdelle) - sign. Juno"
Weight | 6,5 kg |
The bronze sculpture "Heracles the Archer" respectively "Hercules the Archer" is inspired by the masterpiece of the French sculptor Emile-Antoine Bourdelle (1861-1929), which was created in 1909 and bears the same name. The dynamically and gigantically staged bronze statue depicts Heracles, son of Zeus, in an expressive pose as an archer on a rock. He was the greatest of the Greek heroes, a paragon of masculinity, the ancestor of royal clans who claimed to be Heracleidae and a champion of the Olympian order against chthonic monsters. On a fine black marble block the sculpture unfolds its powerful effect. It is signed with the artist's name Juno.
