The Hermes sculpture by Giovanni da Bologna - in short: Giambologna - is probably one of the most famous plastic representations of the god. "The Flying Mercury" reflects the Hermes balancing on a column of air, which is fed by the mouth of Zephyr. The young Hermes figure can be viewed from all sides - the overstretched body generates elegance and grace. The sculpture sits on a beautifully shaped marble base and is provided with the acquired from the original signature.
