"Viennese Bronze Arab Figurine - Carpet Bronze - Bergmann Stamp"
This Viennese bronze statue depicts an Arabian warrior who might be a member of a traditional Bedouin tribe. Placed on a red marble base, this Viennese bronze is mainly coloured in gold and brown hues. The Arabian warrior sits on a pillow, proudly holding his rifle in his hand. On the ground in front of him are a lute and an opulent golden carpet. The oriental scenario is framed by two small tables to the left and right of the Arab figurine on the marble base. Thus, this piece is not a carpet bronze in the traditional sense, like the thousands of others similar to it that were produced in Viennese bronze foundries. In this case, the carpet serves more as a playful part of the motif that is skilfully used to create a flowing transition between the bronze figurine and the marble base. The elegant Arab figurine was painted by hand and is equipped with the Bergmann stamp.
The production of our bronze figurines is subject to strict quality guidelines. All of the bronze figurines in our assortment are created via the lost wax technique and are cast and refined by hand.
The field of Vienna bronze pieces encompasses an extensive repertoire of small sculptures that were created at the end of the 19th century. Thematically, the bronze miniatures can be categorised in many ways. Some often used motifs were erotic nudes, exotic bronze groups and small animal sculptures. Other central criteria of the Vienna Bronze period are elaborate paintings done by hand and technical subtleties.
