Fauno Danzante, teh dancing faun of Pompeji, belongs to the most famous findings from the city of Pompeji, which was buried after the Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. The bronze statue is said to be one of the most valuable relics that could be recovered from the submerged ruins of Pompeji. The original figurine was initially placed in the centre of the Casa del Fauno, the house of the faun, as it is called today. This bronze sculpture by Milo is a replica that is true to the original. It depicts the memorable figure of an advancing faun. This replica is a miniature version of the original. The Fauno Danzante is placed on a discreet, green marble base and bears the signature of the artist.
