The character of Cupid is one of the most famous figures of Roman mythology. As a personification of love, Cupid has been a popular motif of the visual arts for a long time. At the beginning of the 20th century, the French artist Louis Auguste Moreau created this version of the fabled god of love. The angel-like figurine is exclusively limited to 20 pieces and serially numbered. When it comes to the design of the figurine, Moreau was clearly inspired by the stylistic elements of the Art Nouveau period, which can be seen in its combination of floral elements and a playful design. Ultimately, this limited Cupid sculpture was refined with a two-coloured patina.
The production of our sculptures is done via the lost wax technique, in which every bronze figurine is cast and refined by hand. Constant quality inspections ensure the high quality of all our products.
The artist Louis Auguste Moreau (1855-1919) was one of the best-known representatives of Art Nouveau in France. Numerous of the bronze sculptures that he created during his career were clearly inspired by mythological characters. Moreau’s bronze sculptures skilfully combine playfulness and classical elegance into impactful motifs.
