This praying angel is on its knees on a stone in a position of humility. It is barefoot but at the same time dressed in a long gown. Its gaze is directed downwards and the look on its face gives away its grief. It is praying for a deceased person. Its prominent wings frame it and accentuate the concentration the angel applies to its prayer. The mourning angel rests on a black marble base. The material bronze is weatherproof and withstands any weather, which also gives it a unique patina. The mourning angel is suitable as a grave decoration and, without words and in complete silence, is able to convey the huge grief that follows such a great loss. With this mourning angel, relatives can commemorate a deceased person in dignity.

The Portuguese artist Miguel Fernando Lopez, or Milo, has specialised in the creation of contemporary erotic nudes and animal sculptures. Yet, he also lets himself get inspired by other artistic styles and motifs. After he studied the fine arts, he gradually established himself as a well-known artist both throughout his country as well as all over Europe. Together with his wife and his son, who is also working as an artist, he lives and works in a suburb of Lisbon.
