This two-piece antique bronze figurine is an adaptation of a Roman bronze sculpture. It shows Priapus, the god of fertility and son of Adonis, which due to a curse cast by Hera was born with a huge phallus. He always tried to hide this burden. This two-piece bronze figurine also hides the secret of Priapus. Under his coat and pointed hat, the god of fertility does not only hide his arms. If you raise the coat along with the head and the pointed hat, a huge phallus emerges. Statues of Priapus made of bronze or wood were erected on fields during the Antiquity in order to ask for a bountiful harvest. Nowadays, Priapus' coat does not hide a burden, but an erotic secret. This erotic statue is a decorative eye-catcher which guarantees a big surprise upon further inspection. It also bears the signature of French artist M. Nick and is limited to 20 pieces.
