In his painting “Addicted to music“, Martin Klein toys with the classical symbol of musical history: The DJ’s vinyl record. The modern painting documents the process of creating a new musical piece. Klein limits himself in this regard to the use of very few colours that nonetheless create a very impressive effect. Moreover, Klein has installed a sculptural element in form of a wooden paintbrush within the picture. It adds to the comic-like stylistics of the picture that unites two creative genres under one umbrella. Thus, the painting becomes a musical-artistic blend of contemporary art.
