"Modern Art Bronze by Wilhelm Lehmbruck - Girl with leaning leg"
This beautiful and uncommon bronze figure "Girl with leaning leg" was made by Wilhelm Lehmbruck and out of 100% bronze. The face of the girl is anonymous, like the faces of most of the other sculptures by Lehmbruck. The girl is looking very thoughtful the way she is standing. Her leg is leaning, her head is resting and her eyes are closed. This bronze is a beautiful eye-catcher and one must for any collection.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

Wilhelm Lehmbruck was a German sculpor and graphic designer, who was born in Duisburg in 1882. Lehmbruck visited the School of Applied Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany and later the Düsseldorf Art Academie. He finished his studying in 1906 and married his girlfriend Anita Kaufmann in 1908. Lehmbruck moved to Paris in 1910, where he met Alexander Archipenko. During Worls War I he was working in Berlin at a military hospital. He moved to Zurich in 1916 and lived and worked there for three years until he went back to Berlin, where he died in 1919. Lehmbruck committed suicide. His sculptures were influenced by Naturalism and by Expressionism and includes female nudes. The sculpture "Girl with leaning leg" is a typical piece of work of Lehmbruck. The rotated boby of the nude girl seems to be very melancholy and maybee a little sad, like most of Lehmbrucks sculptures.
