Pictured is a charming-styled Art Deco Bronze on a marble base, displaying a young boy with a melodeon. "Lazzarone" is standing on a flat marble base and was designed by the well known master of Art Deco epoch, D. H. Chiparus. This figure was made of finest bronze material and cast in our foundry true to the original. The Artist signed the sculpture at the upper side of the bronze socket. The sculpture "Lazzarone" is a true detailed museum bronze cast and focal point in every exhibition! It can be called an absolute eye-catcher for people fond of bronze sculptures, Art Deco collectors or friends of the artwork from D. H. Chiparus.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
Demetre Haralamb Chiparus was born in Dorohoi, Romania in 1886. The well-known Art Deco artist and sculptor studied in Italy and France where he attend the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Two years after he went to Paris, he exhibited his artwork made of ivory and bronze at the Salon in Paris in 1914. His first sculptures were series of small children. Nowadays his sculptures are remarkable decorative art objects which were influenced by the French Theatre, Russian ballet, pictures from fashion magazines, his interest in fashion as well as his interest in Egyptian culture. Demetre Haralamb Chiparus died in 1947 and is buried close to Paris at the Bagneux cemetery. The largest collection of Chiparus art work and his sculptures is exhibited in Moscow.
