The "Gay Couple in acrobatic pose" is a bronze sculpture designed by M. Nick. It represents, as suggested by its title, a homo erotic couple in an acrobatic position. The naked, athletic young men stand back to back and hook their arms together and they seem to be ready for an acrobatic act, which is only touched upon here. A notable factor is the feminine physiognomy of both males, especially from the man on the right side. His hair plaited into a thick braid underscores this impression, while the protruding phalli of the men - a typical motif of Oliver’s erotic sculptures – are also remarkable. The sculpture is mounted onto a marble base and signed with M. Nick.
