"Art Deco Bronze - Dancer in erotic pose - signed D.Campagne"
This beautiful Art Deco Bronze sculpture is wonderfully delicated, showing a dancer in an elegant movement. Her dress is falling sideward and the right leg of the dancer is resting on the chair, which is furnished with ornaments. Her head is tending sideward with a lightly averted sight and the short dress of the female figure covers her legs up to her thighs. The many folds in the cloth are finly elaborated and she is positioned so, that her neck and left leg are stretched. So the total position of the dancer is strained in one line. The art deco sculpture has the signature of D.Campagne.
The bronze sculptures are made using the method of lost-wax casting. The objects are done in hand-work. Strict quality instructions are very important for a high quality. So we care for the compliance.
The artist D.Campagne was born in 1876 in the north-east of France, growing up in this idyllic environment, D.Campagne realized in his childhood that he wanted to follow his love for art. He could show all his talents in the creation of sculptures. So he was very good in the exact elaborating of details. He wanted to live in his own world, therefore he used the objects for describing some of his wishes. The artist liked to look at Russian dancer. So this motiv is often used.
