Animal bronze - smart Owl - on Marble-base - Francois Pompon

The bronze statue "Smart Owl on Marble-Base" is a marvelous work of art made and signed by Milo after an idea of Francois Pompon. The owlet is known as a symbol of wisdom. This bronze figure is standing in an upright postion on a round marble base with its view fixed to the horizon. Milo created this owl statue keeping a special eye on its great detailedness - in comparison with the original, the animal bronze in museum- cast quality is as meticulous as possible. This magnificent bronze figure was created to be shown in an exhibition or as a collectors item.

The artist Francois Pompon was born on May 9, 1855 in France. The sculptor moved to Paris and worked as an assistant for Auguste Rodin for three years. He made his breakthrough at the age of 67 by creating "L'Ours Blanc", a huge polar bear sculpture. If you are interested in seeing the original sculpture, you can either visit the Museum of Modern Artin New York, the Musée d'Orsay in Paris or the Museum of Luxemburg. Those three museums each houses one exemplar. Throughout his career,  Francois Pompon created many animal sculptures, such as this owl. Owls can be classified into two different kinds: barn-owls and typical owls. They have an enormous habitat, which includes almost every part of the world except Antarctica. The owl is known as a nocturnal animal which hunts in the darkness. Those kind of birds are often mentioned in literature and Grimm's fairytails and there are countless character traits and superstitions connected to them.
