"Emperor Wilhelm II Bust with Parade Helmet Prussia - Eagle Helmet "
Emperor Wilhelm II. (1859 - 1941) went down in history as the last German emperor and king of Prussia. He reigned from 1888 to 1918, a period of time that is also known as Wilhelmine Era. This bust of emperor Wilhelm II. depicts the opulence of the military cult at the time, which could mainly be seen during the large-scale military parades during this empirical period. On his head, Wilhelm II. wears a detailed Prussian Eagle helmet, which was worn as a parade helmet by the cavalry regiments Gardes du Corps and the Garde Cuirassier Regiment from 1890 onwards. The depicted helmet is true to the original, as it is decorated with the Prussian Garde Star and the crowned eagle. This bust of emperor Wilhelm II. is a decorative piece of historically inspired art. The name Wilhelm II. is engraved on the front of the bronze figurine, while the artist’s signature can be found on the back.
