Product description
"Carl Kauba - Indian with Drum - Bronze Figure - signed"
Weight | 11,8 kg |
The adjoining bronze figure with the title "Indian with Drum" was designed by Carl Kauba. Carl Kauba is known for the depiction of North American Indians. Particularly well known are next to the "Indian with Drum" the "Native American with bear" and the "Native American chieftain". The exhibit on the left bears the signature of the artist at the same place like the original.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
The son of an Austrian shoemaker, Carl Kauba (1865-1922) began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with professor Laufenberg, Carl Waschmann and Stefan Schwartz and in 1886 he spent two years in Paris. His western polychrome bronze subjects are highly sought after, although it is highly debatable that he ever visited America. His sculptures appear to have been copied from period photos.
